Story
khalejaThe story revolves around a remote village in Andhra Pradesh plauged by a strange disease killing a lot of people. The soothsayer of the village predicts that God would come to their village for rescue. Meanwhile, Raju (Mahesh Babu) a cab driver in Hyderabad goes to Rajasthan to handover an insurance cheque to a man's family who dies in his car. In a strange situation, Raju meets a man from the village and gets to know about their problem. Soon Raju realises he is none other than the God-sent, the soothsayer predicted, and the rest of the story is all about how Raju takes up the responsibility to rescue the village from the clutches of evil.
Artists Performance
khalejaMahesh Babu: Mahesh Babu who amazed everybody with his Uttarandhra dialect in his dialogue delivery in Pokiri this time uttered dialogues in Godavari dialect. He is simply superb in mouthing the dialogues penned by Trivikram. He is also exceptionally good in the action episodes and of course acting. You can see the hardwork he has put in for this movie on the screen. He changes his body language for this movie. His costumes are cool and he used scarf throughout the movie and it helped in Mahesh Babu look different. Mahesh Babu shed a lot of weight and looks extremely handsome in the movie.
khalejaOthers: Anushka is good in the movie as an ‘iron leg’ lady. She has put on a little bit of weight compared to her recent outings. Prakash Raj is good as villain, but has a limited screen-time and has a conflict with hero only during the climax. Subbaraju is nice. Rao Ramesh is very good in a new get-up of a soothsayer and performed well with a controlled modulation. Shafi is fine. Tanikella Bharani, Dharmavarapu and Raghu Babu are adequte. Brahmanandam, Sunil and Ali entertain. MS Narayana is wasted. Archana did a small role. I fail to understand why Kota Srinivas played such minuscule role.
Technical departments
khalejaStory screenplay - direction: Khaleja movie has a divine element in it. Trivikram balanced the divine part of it by saying that there is a God in everybody and all we need is an intent to serve others. The aspect of killing village men by mixing toxins in water seem to have resemblance to that of Sahara (2005) movie. The entire first half of the movie is like a road-film where the hero and heroine bond with each other while traveling. The second half sports the main story of the movie. Trivikram is a terrific dialogue writer and he gave his best dialogues to Mahesh Babu in Khaleja. Trivikram has a class taste while conceiving comedy episodes and he made sure that there are many episodes of such nature in the movie. Direction of the film is good in parts and screenplay should have been more effective. The beginning point and interval bang are good. Trivikram couldn’t justify the second half with right content and tone. Trivikram should have ironed the script better and made it concise/effective. The unbreakable glass episode of the movie seems to have been inspired by Sabrina (1955) movie (especially lady secretaries dancing on the glass to test strength).
khalejaOther departments: Dialogues by Trivikram are huge asset to the movie. Music by Mani Sharma is good in three songs (Sadasiva, Taxi and Piliche). Though Yash Bhatt is the official cinematographer, parts of the movie were also shot by KV Guhan (Athadu) and Sunil Patel (Hum Tum). Cinematography is very good and there is a visual theme for the movie. Fights by Peter Heins and Ram Lakshman are excellent (especially the interval fight and pre-climax fight (checkout this trailer)). Editing is adequate. Production values are good.
khalejaAnalysis: First half of the movie is entertaining though there is no story in it. Second half should have been better. Climax disappoints. Plus points of the movie are Mahesh Babu (terrific dialogue comedy and superb characterization) and Trivikram brand entertainment. On the flipside, the second half plays a spoilsport and movie lacks consistent tone. We have to wait and see how Khaleja works at the box office.

Story
AthidiAthidi (Mahesh Babu) is an orphan rescued by a Delhi couple when he was a kid. The couple also has a little daughter. But in a mishap, Athidi is framed as killer of the couple who gave him the shelter. He goes to the jail as a kid and grows up there. After releasing from Jail, he takes up the mission of eradicating evil elements in the society. He is in the search of two people. One is the daughter of the couple and the other one is the Kaizer who killed the couple. The rest of the story is all about how he locates them and finishes off the work.
Artists Performance
AthidiMahesh Babu: Mahesh Babu is pretty stylish with his new hairdo. He continued same reckless characterization/mannerisms he enacted in Pokiri. He made sure that he mixed entertainment in fights in first half. There are quite a few emotional scenes in which Mahesh Babu gave perfect performance. Probably this is the first film in which Mahesh created comedy by getting drunk. He is pretty cool at it.
AthidiOthers: Amrita Rao's styling/spontaneity did not suit the character and characterization. But she is good with emotions. Asish Vidyardhi managed to look funny and furious at the same time. Though he looks very weird in the film he managed to creates good laughs. Murali Sharma is pretty good and his performance in the climax is neat. Brahmanandam, Sunil and Venu Madhav are used for the comedy. Nassar, Kota, Ajay and Ravi Prakash are adequate. The child artists who donned the roles of jr. athidi, jr. amrita and heroine's sister are cute.
Technical Departments:
AthidiStory - screenplay - direction: Story and scenes of the film are old fashioned. But director used new technique efficiently to narrate the film. He is pretty creative when it comes to shoot action episodes. The way he has shown the future of the goons in the first fight is highly creative. The same goes with the scene in which an unsolicited home loan call disturbs the villain when he is highly tensed. But, director did not succeed in the screenplay aspect. The duration of 3 hours is too lengthy to narrate such a story. Director should have handled the vital aspect of the last 30 minutes well as it is the last 30 minutes that decides the fate of any film.
AthidiOther departments: Songs of the film are ok. The songs 'Khabadarani' and 'Satyam Emito' are highly aesthetic in visuals. The highly appreciated 'Rathraina Ok' song is not upto the expectations on the screen and the Anushka voice seem to have got dubbed by somebody else on the screen. Background music by Mani Sharma is good. Dialogues by Abbburi Ravi are good. Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is excellent. Editing of the film should have been better. Production values are extraordinary.
AthidiAnalysis: First half of the film is decent as it established the characters and love track and then reveals a twist. The second half is about Athidi becoming the unsolicited bodyguard. The last 30 minutes of the film are heavy. The positive aspects of the film are Mahesh Babu and few fight sequences. The negative aspects of the film are heavy last half an hour, movie runtime and excessive violence. We have to wait and see how Telugu film lovers embrace this stylized flick.

Sainikudu (Telugu: సైనికుడు, translation: Soldier) is a Telugu ( Dubbed in Malayalam as Sulthan and Tamil as Kumaran) film which was released on 30 November 2006[3]Gunasekhar directed this film. The film stars Mahesh Babu and Trisha in pivotal roles. The movie will also see Kamna Jethmalani in an item number as well as a cameo appearance[4]. The film also had Irfan Khan as the main antagonist[5] and Prakash Raj in a supporting role. Harris Jayaraj scored the music for the film. Balasubramaniam handled the camera work while Sreekar Prasad handles the editing. The music of the film was released on 21 October 2006. There was a lot of hype and expectation as this was Mahesh Babu's first film being released after the record breaking Telugu super hit moviePokiri.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, Sainikudu opened well in India, ending up as an average grosser[6]

Plot

The film starts with floods at Rangasaipet in Warangal District. Houses, trains and people inundate in flood water and Siddarth, (Mahesh Babu) a young man saves the people up to his maximum effort. Eight of his friends assist him in the rescue activity.
On the other hand Chief Minister (Kota Srinivasa Rao) recommends the candidature of Pappu Yadav (Irfan Khan), for Assembly Elections. Pappu Yadav is a goonda who wishes to earn big through politics and power. To get the attention of people Pappu Yadav announces a sum of Rs.5 Crore for flood victims.
The food that needs to reach the victims of the flood is taken elsewhere to be sold out, an illegal way of earning money by selling the food and as well backing up the flood relief fund into the pockets of the politicians. Siddharth gets to know this through one of his friend and saves the stock in time and take it to the flood victims for distribution.
This annoys Pappu Yadav for which Mondi Nani (Prakash Raj), Pappu's right hand, threatens Siddarth. A strife develops between Mondi Nani and Siddarth and the latter declares that his friend (Ajay) would be contesting in the next Assembly Election opposite Pappu Yadav. Siddarth and his team get accolades from the people for this decision and thus start campaigning. To cut the good-name of the group in the people and to win sympathy , Pappu Yadav conspires for a bomb blast allegation on Siddarth and Co. Mondi Nani works for him and the mission accomplishes. Pappu Yadav declares Siddarth and Co as terrorists and wins the election. Pappu Yadav becomes the Home Minister and his marriage settles with Vara Lakshmi (Trisha Krishnan). Siddarth, with the help of many college students kidnaps Varalakshmi from marriage hall in a dramatic sequence, demanding Pappu Yadav to let out his crimes before the court of law.
Rest of the film shows Home Minister Pappu Yadav chasing Siddarth for getting his bride Varalakshmi back. ACP (Telangana Shakuntala) also assists him and spills a little comedy with her style of dialogues. The film has no twists and turns and major part goes with chasing aspect.
Finally, how Siddarth puts an end to the game of crooked politicians has to be seen on screen.
